“Photographs by Dr. Eric Dyck”
Born and raised in Kansas, Eric Dyck is a family physician. He did his undergraduate and medical training at the University of Kansas, and his Family Medicine residency at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Hays, Kansas, was the next stop, where he was in private practice for 11 years, until moving to Overland Park, Kansas, in 1991. In 1999, he began practicing in Louisburg, Kansas, and joined Olathe Health 2002. He is currently a staff physician at the Walk-In Clinic at Miami County Medical Center in Paola, Kansas.
His passion for photography has developed over the past several years and has emerged as a large focus in his life as he explores the full range of the art of photography. His long standing interests in woodworking, bicycling and travel weave their way into his photography. He makes custom wood frames for his images, and many of his photos are from his journeys. A yearly medical mission trip to Tochimizolco, a village near Puebla, Mexico, has also produced a wealth of images. His wife, Margie, grew up in the Kansas Flint Hills, which also serves as a source for his photographic inspiration.
Many of his Flint Hills photographs are displayed for sale at Prairie PastTimes, an artist's cooperative in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas. A current project is capturing photos of Miami and Linn County scenes for display in his office in the Walk-In Clinic at Miami County Medical Center.
All of the prints displayed are available for sale. Prints are available including Metal Prints, Large Format Prints (24” X 36”) as well as smaller prints (13" X 13" and 13” X 19”). Contact the photographer to make arrangements. Note cards with the images are also available.
